THE HANDMADE'S TALE...
This full blown feminine dress trend relies on the frills and spills of delicate textiles, such as lace, eyelet, and crochet, inspired by everything from your local bakery's doily patterns to children's intricately cut paper dolls. Within this category, the spring dress will be the dominate fashion item...ruffly tiered, baby doll, and empire will be the significat dress silhouettes. Not only will this dress trend bring forth sweet femininity, a look of naive country charm will also be introduced. Don't forget the 60's baby. The 60's inspiration will also showcase innocent whites, openwork embroidery, and again the babydoll silhouette. Think southern bells such as Dolly Parton and June Carter Cash, or even fun loving Gidget and Malibu Barbie.

THE NEW PURISM...
Get ready to come clean in spring 2007 with this modern career trend. Pared down silhouettes on the runway and minimalist tendencies, focus on design rather than decoration. This new simplistic mood calls for monochromatic dressing, very slim trousers or surprising volume wide leg pants, menswear suiting, the white shirt dress, and the new cuffed short. Modern black and white graphics and colorful geometric prints are most important.

PLAYERS CLUB...
This season's players are ready for action, but not necessarily of the hard-core athletic sort. The active lifestyle is becoming hipper and athletic attire is becoming increasingly fashionable. Unsightly baggy sweat suits - be gone. Clothing is adapting to our ever changing environment, introducing fun, comfortable fashion sport casuals. Layered warm-up gear and ballet inspired silhouettes are borrowed from the Flashdance era and modernized with playful drawstrings, hoods and pockets. Regarding color, this trend plays rough with comic book brights such as yellow, orange, magenta, and bright blue. On it's softer side, colors range from lilac, chiffon pink, icemint, and heathered grey.

MAKING THE BAND...
Rock out with the headliners - this edgy trend craves the spotlight and makes a statement with punk rock, new wave and classic rock inspired looks.. This leading trend celebrates youth culture with just the right mix of rebellion. Silhouettes for this trend include the skinny pant, the drainpipe jean, embellished printed tees, unisex vests and raw edge cropped jackets. Apparel is ornamented with the hottest jeweled look: crests, princess crowns, sculls, studs, and rhinestones.

FOOTWEAR COLOR...

SPRING 2007 - Clean. Simple. Streamlined. These are overriding themes for the season, which focus on modern basics and calm color palettes.

POWDER PUFF...
Gorgeous cosmetic shimmers. Hints of pearl dust. Off-white hues with sweet slips of color, innocent and barely there. Whitewashes and chalky finishes.

COLOR ME SUNSHINE...
This palette is packed full of cheery and festive brights, just waiting for the summer season. Yellow and orange are the most important fashion colors within this trend, followed by eye catching pinks, greens and blues. For inspiration, think of fresh laundry drying in the sunshine under a vibrant blue sky.

TERRA COTTA...
This color trend is all about the earth's natural surfaces and the delicate balance they hold within our eco-system. Inspiration comes from nature, the earth's true beauty. The color palette is rich in warm earth tones such as wet clay, terracotta and eco green.

  Saffron, sand dune, hazelnut, cinnamon, cayenne, cognac, clay, chili, kelp, olive, spice, sienna, and earth

OPPOSITES ATTRACT: BLACK & WHITE
This color scheme embodies the idea of duality and modernity. Basic white makes a grand statement this spring and is balanced with it's direct opposite - black. Strong graphic statements are made, and flecks of silver metallics are added for novelty.

  White, anthracite, silver, pewter, smoke and black

AFTER DARK
This trend features rich, luscious darks inspired by modern architecture and nighttime cityscapes. This color theme is sultry, sexy and mysterious. Dark tone shadows are flecked with metal. Deep magenta, dark turquoise, bronze, ink and blood red are the most important hues.

HEAVY METAL
Metallics are so significat, they are not only mentioned within OPPOSITES ATTRACT and AFTER DARK, but listed here as a key component to the season's color palette. Metallics shine on in luxe silver, pewter, bronze, and most important for summer - gold! Bright colored metallics and soft pastel metallics will also be vital for summer 07. These heavy metals are used as "all over" coloring to create dramatic effects, or just light flecks of shimmer to add highlighted interest.
